Fitur 2015, the International Tourism Trade Fair in Madrid

At the end of this month, between January 28th and February 1st, you are invited to take part in the prestigious Fitur 2015, the International Tourism Trade Fair in Madrid.

Today, when traveling across long distances is such an accessible option, every nation is “arming” itself for this soft power war. For decades, Spain has been one of the greatest players on the tourist market, especially in Europe, targeting Western European countries like Germany, Switzerland, France and the Netherlands, and many others.

With emerging competition coming from their neighbours, but also from other countries benefiting from warm weather and tolerant people, Spain is just not willing to lose ground!

Fitur is an excellent occasion, an event targeting both the inbound and outbound Iberian and American markets and not only. It is above all a global meeting place for professionals and clients of the tourist industry.

The price for a one day ticket is 15 Euro if purchased on spot and 8 Euro if purchased in advance (before January 22nd). For a pass for the entire five-day event, the cost of the ticket is 25 Euro (15 Euro if bought in advance).

FITUR 2014 can be considered a success, registering over 120.000 participants, almost 100.000 of whom were general public. Almost 10.000 companies exhibited their product; they came from 165 countries or regions. This year, expectations are equally high. The international press and the international public are awaited as well, naturally.

The importance of FITUR as an international tourist event in the annual calendar is evident. And as it is hosted by the capital city of Spain, the eclectic and eccentric Madrid, it is likely to attract much attention. Planning a trip to Spain can be an appealing thought. A word of caution, though: book your accommodation, tickets and airport transfers in advance!
